• Meetings will be a mix of virtual and in person
• Members will get a welcome kit, food, ttc tokens, volunteer hours, and a Get REAL certificate

THE FACILITATORS

Wren (they/them) & Joseph (he/him) are a dynamic duo who will be guiding the Youth Leadership Committee in the planning process of the Youth Pride Prom, fostering leadership skills and empowering young queer voices.

YOUTH PRIDE PROM

The Youth Pride Prom is an event created in collaboration with our Youth Leadership Committee. The YPP will be a space where 2SLGBTQ+ youth can express themselves freely without fear of discrimination or exclusion.

More information on date, theme, and location are to come!

To help diminish financial barriers and increase accessibility we are hoping to organize a prom clothing drive prior to the event with the services of local tailors in addition to partnering with local make-up artists, barbers, and hair stylists to offer free services to a set number of selected youth registered for the event.

If you are a local 2SLGBTQ+ organization, advocate, volunteers or sponsor interested in supporting queer youth please connect with us! info@thegetrealmovement.com

In 2023, our amazing friend Harrison Browne approached us with a generous offer: he wanted to donate his tuxedo to a student in need for prom. This sparked an overwhelming response on social media, highlighting a clear demand for initiatives that provide suits to trans and gender-diverse individuals.

And so, Gender Joy: Prom was born! In 2024, we partnered with Harry Rosen to give seven 2SLGBTQ+ high school students the opportunity to receive custom-tailored suits that reflected their unique style for prom.
