What is Get REAL’s Black Film Festival?
Our Black Film Festival is a virtual space open to everyone 19+ to watch impactful Black films in a free, virtual setting that is structured, educational, accessible and fun!
We have screened a variety of docu/drama, feature films and shorts films! On the third night after the film screenings we will usually host a virtual panel with filmmakers from the films screened during the week, where have been able to learn the insights of the films, advice on the film industry and much more!
Our 2025 Black Film Festival was held the week of February 25th - 27th!

Throughout the week of February 25-27th, 2025 we screened: a Feature Film, a Documentary, and 6 Short Films, followed by a virtual panel with filmmakers from the films screened during the week, where we gathered unbelievable insights of the films and the industry!
This year our Red Carpet ticket holders received an at-home movie watching kit, containing:
•1x non-alcoholic drink from Grüvi
• 1x Purdys Chocolatier survival kit box of chocolate
• 1x bag of POKKO chips

This year we are delighted to connect with CultureBrew.Art, a digital platform created by radicalized artists for BIPOC artists. CBA features a Canada-wide searchable database of Indigenous and radicalized artists working in every artistic discipline: literary, media, performing, and visual arts.
