AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM

We strive to empower 2SLGBTQ+ youth and allies through mentorship and community.

We have two After-School programs made up of twenty (20) 2SLGBTQ+ students and allies in grades 8-12 from various schools in the Ontario, and Winnipeg. The groups meet once a month for sessions focused on learning new skills, leadership, community, and advocacy. We offer unique experiences such as guest speakers, field trips and collaborative year-end projects, which is a fun way of offering new experiences in a safe and welcoming environment. Thanks to our generous partners the program is completely free for the youth involved.

This year the After-School Program students created a Virtual event called
“Get REAL’s Queer Joy Panel: For YOUth by YOUth”!

This year, the program ran virtually, allowing students from across the province to join in.

The program ran with support from TikTok Canada, allowing participation to be completely free to youth.

The group collaborated throughout the school year to brainstorm, plan, and eventually create this zine you have in front of you. It is a heartfelt compilation of art, writing, and music from members of our group. We share this in hopes that it helps someone else to feel a little less alone, and inspires them to love their true self
